About our Hiking Group
12/21/2017 | Sheryl McGlochlin
Consistent: Plan on us EVERY Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday! We rarely cancel unless something catastrophic happens, which hasn't happened since we started in 2003.
Full of Variety:
In addition to 200+ day hikes each year, we offer several other outdoor sports, activities and adventure trips that you are invited to attend.
Examples include: International adventure trips, weekday getaways, kayaking, canyoneering, stand up paddle surfing, camping, Dutch Oven cooking, snowshoeing, backpacking, hooping, sledding, trampoline jumping, yoga, gardening, etc.
Many of these are also offered as classes for those who need some instruction or guidance. There is a cost to the classes. Pre-meetings are held for all of our adventure trips. Look for these posted on meetup, on my website at liveandthrive.com or text me at 801-278-5313 and ask to be added to our Text Message Reminder system.Accommodating:
Come to any hike and talk with me in person or one of my assistants with any concerns or questions you may have. We have hikers join us often who have a wide variety of needs and abilities.Experienced:
Organizing hikes every week for 15 years (started Feb. 2003) has helped me become very familiar with so many trails in and around the Wasatch Mountains and beyond!Safe: Safety is always our #1 priority.
Even though you are in a group, you'll have plenty of options to be social or enjoy quiet solitude. Enjoy a short or longer hike. Go fast or slow. Stop a lot or rarely stop. You decide.
Fun: With incredible beauty in all directions and surrounded by great people we often forget about the great workout that comes with this sport.Addictive: After attending a few times, you may get hooked on this group, just like the rest of us. It's no wonder we have a core group that has been coming nearly every week for years - all because of the good people, beautiful scenery, great workout, and exploring different trails every time!
New hikers are joining us all the time and will receive a warm, friendly welcome. Thank you in advance for making an effort to get up early and join us.Caring: We want to meet you in person and get to know you better so we can help you have a great experience on the mountain, the FIRST time you attend. There are many kind, caring, respectful people who attend on a regular basis.
NO Fees! No yearly membership fees required for any local hikes.
