Welcome!

LCC - Little Cottonwood Canyon

Outdoor adventures are our passion and for good reason. Since February 2003, our day hikes feel more like a rich, mini, scenic vacation somewhere far from home even though they are just moments away from our meeting place. During the fall season, these hikes center around the spectacular fall colors and help us transition into the winter season.

Our mini vacations into the wilderness result in much healthier, happier, and more productive living, in all aspects of our lives! There is increased physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual and even financial health and wellness that come from such a simple activity. Within a few hours of hiking in Utah we feel more relaxed, motivated, satisfied, inspired, edified, energized and a lot less stressed!

All trails are subject to change due to weather/road/trail conditions.

Micro Spikes or something similar are now required on all of our hikes. That's how critical they are to your safety. The snow is here and we are so excited for a lot of winter hiking and snowshoeing outings!

Micro Spikes have allowed us to hike safely and comfortably on ice and snow-pack trails for 15 years. We've tried a variety of devices for traction on ice and snow and Micro Spikes definitely are our favorite! From now until potentially May or June, we'll wear Micro Spikes on most hikes. For deeper fresh powder we'll use snowshoes, however, in past years Micro Spikes were used at least 75% of the time. When we do snowshoe, I have 15 pair of MSR Snowshoes that I rent for $10/outing.

Micro Spikes are easy to put on over your hiking shoe/boot and are light weight to carry in a backpack. Micro Spikes are available from me for $50, reg. $70. If I have extra, I rent each pair for $10/outing.

Contact me soon and thanks for hiking with us and staying safe during the winter months!

TIMELINE:

  • 8 AM - Start gathering, greet hikers, arrange carpools as needed, final instructions
  • 8:30 AM - Drive to the trailhead (15 - 30 minute drive time unless otherwise stated)
  • 8:45 AM - Start hiking
  • 12 Noon - Off the trail (some may enjoy a shorter or longer hike)

Those who are new to hiking are invited to join us for a very short hike lasting only 30 - 60 minutes.

This outing is part of a series of hikes offered weekly, year-round, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning. Regardless of your hiking abilities, join us in our beautiful outdoor playground known as the Wasatch Mountains and beyond. We hike a new trail often and the caliber of people who attend makes every outing exciting. Each hike may vary in trails, canyons, and terrain, but they are all generally similar in nature.

In addition to local hikes, you are invited to join all of our adventure trips.
