Welcome!

Welcome to our group! This hike is part of a series of day hikes offered year round. Established 15 years ago in 2003, we are the most consistent hiking group in Utah, hiking every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of the year! Join us on 100’s of trails in our outdoor playground known as the Wasatch Mountains. Hike a new trail nearly every week and meet new people. Changing seasons and weather patterns make it fun too! Expect a kind, caring, friendly attitude when you arrive. Local day hikes are just the beginning! Join us on MANY exciting, adventure trips, near and far! People discover us online and by word of mouth. Changes are rarely made after a hike is posted, however, due to weather, road, trail and/or canyon conditions beyond our control, we reserve the right to change things at the last minute. Need to meet us somewhere other than our meeting place? Let us know in advance. Hikes are rarely ever canceled. Thanks and we hope to see you soon!

We are now into winter conditions and there will be SNOW and ICE on the Trail.  Micro Spikes or the equivalent are now required if you plan to hike with us. It's a safety issue. They are very easy to put on and make all the difference in having a great time hiking through the winter months. Contact me to purchase a pair OR come and learn more at one of our short, pre-hike meetings, held 15 minutes prior to leaving on the hike. I would love to talk with you in person about what you need to have a super fun winter hiking experience with us. You may attend the pre trip meeting ONLY and skip the hike if you prefer.

Each hike will finish before 12 noon unless otherwise stated.  You are invited to do a shorter hike if you like, even just 15 minutes long if you prefer! The length of the hike is not nearly as important as just showing up for a hike. Before every hike we include a short, pre-hiking meeting, held prior to leaving for the hike. Tell me what is on your mind and ask me anything!   I am eager to help you become a better hiker so you always have a great hiking experience, whether it's your first or hundred and first time hiking with us!

Timeline

8:00 AM
Start gathering

There is a 15 minute window when hikers will be arriving. Join us for a short pre-hike meeting as we greet everyone, introduce any new hikers, discuss final instructions for this hike, address any concerns, arrange carpools, and announce upcoming events.

8:15 AM
Drive to trailhead

Hikers are encouraged to gather at our meeting place, not the trailhead in case we need to change the hiking location at the last minute.  If you need to meet us at the trailhead, text me before 8 AM so I can inform you of any updates.

8:45 AM
Arrive at trailhead, start hiking

The trailhead is generally within 10 - 30 minutes of our 6200 South meeting place, unless otherwise stated.  There is often limited parking at the trailheads which is why we try to carpool if possible. Some trailheads have a bathroom, many do not. If you choose to do a shorter hike, let me know so I can ask other hikers since they may want to join you. Let me know at the meeting place.

12:00 PM
Off the trail

We are off the trail between 11:30 AM - 12 noon, depending on the hike. If it is an Out and Back trail, we generally turn around by 10:30 AM in order to be back to the cars in time. Come often and get to know other hikers with similar abilities.
