Snowshoes are required on this trail. No spikes or regular boots allowed.

If you need snowshoes rent from me. I still have some available.

MORE DETAILS ABOUT THIS OUTING:
3 snowshoeing options to choose from: People will be divided into all 3 options. On Saturday at our 6200 South meeting place I'll ask you which option you want. I'll have a guide for each option.
We all begin at 9000 ft. above sea level which may affect your breathing.

EASIEST Option: Snowshoe around Silver Lake - 1 mile. Approx. 1 hour or less. Mostly flat and very beautiful.

MEDIUM Option: Snowshoe halfway around Silver Lake, then follow the scenic downhill trail to Solitude Ski Resort. Take off snowshoes and walk through the Solitude Village. Take a FREE shuttle back up to the cars to avoid snowshoeing uphill a lot. (Approx. 2.5 miles)

HARDEST Option: Snowshoe halfway around Silver Lake, then follow the scenic downhill trail to Solitude Ski Resort, continue on the trail by doing a loop which heads back up to walking around the rest of Silver Lake and back to the cars. (4 - 5 miles)

If you rent snowshoes from me, plan to be back to the trailhead area by 11 AM OR call me at 801-278-5313 if you are not back by then so I can arrange to get them back. One of my assistants will be on the longest option OR you can return them to me in Holladay.

TIMELINE:
8:00 AM - Start gathering, introduce everyone, arrange carpools as needed, final instructions, etc.
8:30 AM - Leave for the trail
9 AM - Arrive at the trailhead, start snowshoeing
11 am - Off the trail (make this a shorter outing if you like)
