ABOUT THIS OUTING:

I have saved this trail choice for conditions just like this!  Make this an easy or hard outing by walking fast or slow. It's an easy, gentle, uphill grade. The trailhead starts just 5 minutes from our meeting place at the New Holladay Park in back of Tuscany Restaurant (6200 South Holladay Blvd).  We'll follow the very scenic trail to the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and back. As always, go as far as you feel comfortable. Distance RT:  4 miles.

TIMELINE:

  • 8 AM - Gather, arrange carpools, final instructions, etc.
  • 8:15 AM - Drive to the trailhead
  • 8:20 AM - Start hiking
  • 11 AM - Off the trail. Finish hiking. (It's common to see a few hikers turn around early and do a shorter version of this hike, which you are invited to join them on, if you like)

NOTE: Unless it's a "loop" hike, the bulk of the group will be turning around by 10 AM

The GOAL is to help you...

  • become more physically, emotionally and mentally strong
  • become better acquainted with many trails in the Wasatch Mountains
  • meet other similar outdoor adventure enthusiasts
  • become aware of our adventure trips near and far

You are invited to any of my FREE 1 hour snowshoeing classes

Snowshoe rentals available: $10/person/class

IMPORTANT:

For those carpooling OR if you are a driver taking passengers:

1) Wearing your seat belt is required.
2) If you are carpooling, ask your driver for their cell phone #, in case you get separated.
3) As a courtesy, plan to leave a few dollars in your drivers seat or center console before leaving their car. Don't ask them how much, etc.  Just do it.
4) Add my phone number to your contacts before leaving the meeting place. 801-278-5313. Sheryl
