TIMELINE: 

6 PM - Gather, arrange carpools, final instructions, etc.

6:15 PM - Drive to trailhead and put on snowshoes

6:30 PM - Start Snowshoeing

7:30 PM - Finish Snowshoeing

FRESH Powder Snow!

Meet at our regular 6200 South meeting place. We will drive to a snowshoeing area just a few minutes away.
There is no need to drive into the canyon.

All are invited to this FREE 1-hour snowshoe outing, especially those who have never snowshoed OR want to practice valuable snowshoeing skills.

This is an excellent pre-requisite for our regular snowshoeing outings.
Free instruction is offered to anyone who wants to learn.

Those with snowshoeing experience are also invited to attend.

TIP: Rent snowshoes for at least a few times until you determine if this is a sport you want to invest in. Let me show you what to look for in a good snowshoe before you spend any money.

Equipment or Gear
  • Water - 1 liter or 1 quart per hour of hiking is recommended
  • Snack i.e. granola bar, trail mix, nuts
  • Sun protection i.e. sunscreen, lip balm
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Layered clothing
  • First Aid Kit - (Optional) (basic supplies i.e. bandaids, aspirin, Neosporin, moist towelettes, etc.) 
  • Cell phone - service may be spotty in the canyons
  • Camera
  • Flashlight or headlamp
