The above itinerary is a sample of how to get the most from our trip. You are not required to participate in every activity, every day.  At any time, you are invited to slow down and enjoy a pace that feels good to you.

MEALS & FOOD:

Take the opportunity to learn and practice valuable cooking skills in other cultures in the world!

Food has always brought people together. We work together to not only feed everyone delicious food but create a social activity. Tapping into talents, knowledge and experience of people is an enriching experience.  Regardless of where I travel in the world, a tradition of mine is to find local food and then create delicious meals for our guests. It’s more than fun, it's a valuable self reliance skill to learn and practice often.

In my “Feed a Family” course I taught for several years, the curriculum focused on preparing delicious, easy, healthy, hearty meals in just minutes using our kitchen, where ever that may be. As I travel, our accommodations will always include a well-equipped kitchen. Opportunities to cook for and feed people in Switzerland, Denmark, Iceland, Caribbean, Hawaii, Italy, and many locations in the US along with creating meals in primitive camping settings and Dutch Oven Cooking have all been rewarding and memorable.  I quickly observe and assess local resources and products available. Sometimes I ask for help from local chefs or a kind mother in a grocery store. Our guests also continue to give me new ideas. Dining out is also fun, which we'll do on the first and last night of our trip.

Enjoy:

A casual, communal dining style on most evenings

WEATHER CONDITIONS:
Get an idea of general weather conditions on your own during this time of year, however, 2 weeks before departure we watch weather reports closely.

Safety is always our number one priority regarding outdoor activities.

We have activity options in mind for inclement weather.

We are subject to itinerary changes due to circumstances beyond our control.

COMMUNICATION on the trip:
Walkie Talkies are used by guides

A brief meeting is held each evening to discuss plans for the following day.

PRE-TRIP MEETING:
A month prior to departure, watch for an invite to attend a pre-trip meeting in Salt Lake City, designed for those who are able to visit with us in person. Since many are not able to attend this meeting, final details will be sent via email to all guests. Contact me anytime via text, email or phone with any concerns.

TIPS:

Pack lightly
Be fluid and flexible - all outdoor adventures are subject to weather conditions beyond our control i.e. weather, road and trail conditions.
Be observant.
Be a contributor. We’ve discovered clients who are the happiest and most pleasant to be around are those who make an effort to get to know others and help others if needed, in a variety of ways, whether they’re on a hiking trail or in the kitchen. It’s a very attractive quality to discover in someone!
Be one who loves variety! There may be a constant transition to new places and different activities but it’s all good! Whether it’s transportation, meals, or activities, we thrive on variety!

SHARING PHOTOS AT THE END OF THE TRIP:

You’ll receive an invitation to open a shared folder on Google Drive. Once inside, each client will find a folder with their name on it. Upload your photos in your folder. You also have access to each others photos.
