8 - 10 am
Watch for the afternoon work time posted today as well - from 2 - 4 pm.
Those who come this morning will be asked to do the following work:
Help me clean up the greenhouse a bit and set up for the online Garden Class which starts at 10 am.
Pick up a large bag of peas at IFA (2100 So. 1200 W.) this morning so we can get them soaking before we plant them at 2 pm when another crew shows up.
UPDATE: We got quite a bit of the pea plantation planted last Saturday but ran out of peas so we need to finish that this afternoon when the ground is soft.
Food available for those who come today: Any garden member who RSVP's and shows up today will receive a loaf of Artisan Bread (while supplies last) and a dozen bagels! Bring your own grocery bags with you.
Holladay Gardens are always in need of help since this is headquarters to all of our gardens.
In addition to working in the soil, we also prepare, plant and grow all of our plants, for all of our gardens, from seed, early in the spring. Even the containers for the plants are hand made! Once you learn how to do this, some of this work can be done at home, so join us!
You may be working inside the greenhouse or outside in the gardens.
Wear work clothes that can get dirty.
Bring work gloves, water bottle and snack if you like.
The work sessions are great opportunities to get "hands on" experience in the garden.
Before you arrive, learn more about what we do, tour our gardens online, etc. click here to watch our new, short, 2012 Garden Orientation Video.
RSVP if you will be working.
