Items we need for our Gardens...

Items we need for our Gardens...

Think of this list as a fun Scavenger Hunt!  Don't spend money on these items.  See which of these items you have in or around your house.  Email me before bringing them over and let me know what you have.  When we have all we need, I'll send an email out.  These items are for our garden and for our classes.

  • Multi purpose compost
  • Empty Quart Size Paint Cans (this is for an Emergency Preparedness item)
  • Gravel
  • Pebbles
  • Seeds: Grass Seed, Mustard, Cress, Wheat, Beans, Annual Flowers - all kinds
  • Small Plants (Ferns, Palms, etc.)
  • Plastic Pots
  • Terra Cotta Pots
  • Saucers (for pots)
  • 4 - 6 oz  empty Yogurt Cups
  • Styrofoam Egg Cartons
  • Fruit and Vegetable Trays
  • Water Spray Bottle
  • Plant Food
  • Liquid Fertilizer (i.e. Miracle Grow)
  • Watering Can
  • Plant Labels (pop-cycle sticks, etc.)
  • Pencil, Waterproof Pen
  • Twist Ties for plastic bags
  • Plastic Grocery Bags (we have plenty right now but that may change)
  • Re-bar (we'll cut to 3 ft)
  • Fence Posts
  • Lids (approx. 4.5" in diameter x 1" tall is best, but any type of plastic or metal lid around that size or larger will work.  Ideal lids, for example, are the Plastic Red Peanut Lids from Costco).
  • Paper Towels
  • Miniature Toys/Figures (that fit inside the lids). Example: Tiny GI Joes, any plastic insect, bug, or animal, cars, trucks, people, etc.
  • Cake pans or Tray (from Thrift Stores) Approx. 15" x 10" x 4" or any rectangular type pan around that size.  It will be full of dirt/rocks - not food.
  • Stones (Any size, bigger than pebbles)
  • Clean, used nylon knee high or panty hose
  • Dwarf conifers
  • Moss
  • Washer (Black, it will be a miniature Tire Swing)
  • String (to hang the miniature Tire Swing)
  • Saw Dust
  • Rubber Bands
  • Craft Eyes
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Mini Gnomes
  • Polyester Fabric - all sizes & lengths (for Hydroponic garden)
  • Newspaper
  • Steer or Cow manure
  • Fist Size Rocks (Adult man or woman fist size is perfect!)
  • Acrylic Paint
  • PVA Glue
