Wed., March 7: Garden Work to do in Holladay

Wed., March 7: Garden Work to do in Holladay

1)  As soon as someone can come between Thursday - Saturday, I still need help finishing the last of the pea planting.  We didn't quite get it finished yet. There is one long row and a short row to do - on both sides of the fence.  Then our entire Pea Plantation will be planted.  Email me if you can come and help.

2)  In the pea plantation, also sometime between Thursday and Saturday, I need someone to make sure all of the peas are covered with dirt.  Some of these were planted while there was snow on the ground.  You'll do this by walking slowly with a shovel, next to the fence where the peas are planted, and gently move some dirt over the peas.  They should only be buried about an inch.  You won't have to get down on your hands and knees in the mud to do this, so it's not that hard.  You just have to be careful not to bury them too deep.  Email me if you can come and help.

3)  I need help that will require a truck.  We have a bunch (about 30) buckets of compost material (leaves, leftover veggies, etc.) that need to be loaded into a truck from my Holladay property and taken to our new South Jordan garden property (9900 So. Redwood Rd.).  Another crew will spread it out over this large property so we can get it tilled in soon.  Let me know if you can help us with this job sometime during the next few days.

4)  I have a small camera crew coming in to film me doing a couple of How to Videos on 1)  "How to Build an Inexpensive Greenhouse" AND 2)   "How to grow a Hydroponic Garden without soil, in rain gutters".  They will be done during the next 7 days.  I am looking for garden members to assist me.

FYI:  Before I had my 1200 sq ft High Tunnel Coldframe Greenhouse, I built a much cheaper, simple 30' x 10' greenhouse called a hoop house.  I will be building something like this in a friend of mine's backyard here in Holladay, for them to keep once it's built.

This is also a great opportunity to learn how to do this yourself.

I can't shoot on Saturday. I'll update this blog later today as soon as we confirm the times/days, hopefully I can do this within the next 7 days.
