36 Hours after Surgery

Article image: 36 Hours after Surgery

It's Thursday morning around 10:30 AM.

I am doing great! I finally got a good nights rest (in between them checking my vitals and giving me shots). I feel great!  I am finally allowed to start eating food that I can chew again.  A liquid diet is not so bad but I am very excited to eat real food once again.

Big news!!!

I think I'm coming home later today sometime!  They are telling me I'm a good patient and doing everything they have asked me to do.

I love all of the hospital nurses and workers and of course my doctors.  Everyone has been extremely kind here in the hospital and made my stay very comfortable.  LDS Hospital rocks!!

I'm still tired and need to sleep more than I normally do.

My doctor came in this morning, checked me again and took off the dressings of each incision.  It's hard to believe that I can now take a shower just like a normal person would.

I have FOR SURE felt the love, concern and prayers of everyone so please accept a big THANK YOU from me and my family!

I'm sorry I haven't responded to everyone individually but I have been deeply grateful for every phone message, card, letter, text, email, FB post, etc.  Every little kindness has lifted my spirit, put a smile on my face and meant SO much to me especially this week.

Last night I had a hard time falling asleep so I opened up my Mac Book, got online and started reading some of the many FB responses that I saw.  It was just another one of the many great Tender Mercies I have received over the past 2 weeks.

Gotta go...
