This unique outdoor adventure in Black Canyon on the Colorado River below Hoover Dam includes primitive camping along the river, swimming, exploring hot springs, water caves, viewing wild life, seeing the impressive Hoover Dam up close, hiking and mostly kayaking.
4-day, 3-night adventure trip
Intimate experience on a 14-mile section of the Colorado River!
Begin at 5 PM near Boulder City, at our campsite.
Dinner and relax before spending 2 days on the river.
Campsite is not far from the Hoover Dam (about an hour from Las Vegas). Stay in a hotel the first night (on your own dime) if you prefer.
Next 2 days are spent kayaking and exploring approx. 14 miles in and around the calm, cool waters of the Colorado River known as Black Canyon.
Water temperature on the river stays a consistent 55F degree year round since it flows in from the bottom of Lake Mead.
Trip starts and ends at our campground near Boulder City, Nevada next to Lake Mead.
6 - 7-hour drive from Salt Lake City.
Hoover Dam is a National Security area which is why a permit is required. It also has special watercraft procedures.
3 nights camping (2 nights at a campground near Lake Mead, 1 night camping along the river)
