In November 2020, some unwelcome news came.
Dr. Robert Bourne, an orthopedic specialist and trusted friend, informed me that the cartilage on my left hip was wearing down from years of hiking. He advised me to increase sports like bike riding and swimming rather than hiking and walking so much.
This news became a huge blessing in disguise. I continue to organize three hikes every week as I have been doing for 18 years however, now I am content with a much shorter hike while others continue on. I'm always thrilled when someone joins me for a much shorter hike!
Creating Nature Notes have replaced longer hikes
Creating nature notes has taken the place of longer hikes. I look for anyone who will join me to create these Nature Notes! I send these messages to people through social media or text messages with the hopes of encouraging, lifting, supporting and/or making someone feel
This has become much more satisfying than a long hike! It's the gift that keeps on giving!!! Long after the outing is over there is a good feeling that lingers on inside of you.
Consider joining me on one of these outings.
KSL TV, a local, Utah, TV station wanted to do a story on us. CNN then picked it up. We know it went into more markets across the US. My hope is to take our idea worldwide! This is an example of how something so simple can bless and bring kindness to each nation, one person at a time.
One day, in 2019, I was spelling out the word "Hope" with a bunch of sponges I had bought from Home Depot. One idea led to another.... then another....
It takes only a few minutes to set up a word.
More Nature Notes coming soon...
